10 ways to get a flat stomach!

Do you despise that belly fat? It’s unhealthy. Underneath those love handles is the nasty stuff. The fat deep inside of your torso is clinging to your heart and liver. In the process, it’s smothering them. Fat makes you more prone to heart disease, diabetes and even certain cancers. Some say it is difficult to get rid of, but I say that if you put your mind to it, you can do it! Below, I am going to give you the top 10 ways to get a flat stomach!

10. Eat those foods that are rich in monounsaturated fats

For a long time, experts have stated that foods that are rich in monounsaturated fats help our body fight against diabetes and heart disease. Evidence has emerged telling us that it also helps reduce the risk of lung cancer and breast cancer. It also helps your tummy!

9. Avoid being bloated

A lot of that belly is nothing more than trapped wind. The rest of it is solid food and liquid that is hanging out in your abdomen. This is why many of the belly fat diets start out with an anti-bloat jump-start, which lasts for four days. Eat slowly so that you do not swallow air and cut back on those bubbly drinks!

8. Stop eating bread

If you are looking to have a flat stomach, then you may want to cut out that bread. Instead of bread, try consuming some oatmeal, which is more nutritious.

7. Reduce your stress level

I know, this one seems strange, but when you are stressed out, your body and mind can conspire to the fat. Cortisol, which is a stress hormone, stimulates the appetite and makes you crave fat and sugar.

6. Get some core stability

Do you have a saggy belly? This is because you have core muscles that function poorly. Don’t bother doing those crunches. They will not target abdominal muscles. Instead, combine aerobic exercise with eating healthy. For aerobic exercise, all you have to do is walk for thirty minutes each day.

5. Control those meals!

If you control those meals, then you are not going to overeat. When you do not overeat, then you should not have a problem getting that flat stomach. It is important to watch how much you eat. Stick to that one plate rule and never go in for that second serving.

4. Cut back on your alcohol consumption

Does the name “beer belly” ring a bell? One of the major things that cause you to have a fat tummy would be the alcohol. So, if you drink frequently, then you should cut down on it.

3. Exercise regularly

You didn’t expect to get a flat stomach without doing any exercise, now did you? In order to lose that fat on your tummy, exercising is a must. Cardiovascular exercises will burn the fat faster.

2. Detoxify your body

Did you know that your body contains parasites, toxins and other forms of bacteria that make your tummy bloated? So, detoxifying your body sounds like a good idea. You should drink at least eight glasses of water each day in order to wash those toxins out.

1. Try the exercise ball

There are many forms of exercises that you can do with the exercise ball that will help you lose that fat. The exercise ball is my favorite tool for exercising!

There you have the top 10 ways to get rid of that tummy fat. As I said, number one is my favorite method, but you should also add running/jogging or walking in there. In the end, don’t forget to eat healthy.

  1. Hi,

One of my new year resolutions WAS that I would cut my pot belly.
I do not have a major protruding problem, however I am bloaty and unattractive to myself and it spoils my office, partying dress style and beach moments.
I have so far FAILED in my task. I have resolved to do better. By end of 2010, I wish to be more muscle, leaner and a serious show off.

Love your blog, but one thing beats me.
I am slow in picking up diet jargon.
Please put in brackets the exact types of foods I should be eating from morning to noon.
I do not get nor want to research MONOUNSATURATED FATS. It will lead me to more confusion so please give me my simple 1x3 daily prescription!

Please mention stuff I can buy "kibandani" (locally) or at the super-market coz I may not be doing the shopping myself.
Get it? I am trying to win here. I am loosing the fight coz of jargon.

I will keep coming back to this blog, in fact, I am tagging it.

    Thx!
